wedding Cake Portion Guide
Precision Planning for a Flawless Dessert Moment.
At Magnolia Couture Cakery, every detail of your bespoke cake is meticulously designed, and that includes the servings. It is crucial to define your required portion size upfront to prevent either waste or, worse, running short.
Consult our detailed Portion Guide now. Let us help you calculate the exact tier dimensions required to serve your whole guest list with the elegance and accuracy your luxury celebration deserves.
We offer two standard portion sizes referring to wedding cake servings. The first is a dessert portion measuring 2” x 1” x the height of the cake slices, which is an ample and generous size. Have a two-course sit-down meal, and then incorporate the wedding cake as your dessert. This serving size would be perfect for this idea, primarily if you serve it with ice cream, fresh cream, or a fruit coulis.
If you plan on serving the cake after a three-course sit-down meal, you may be happy for your guests to have smaller finger slices with their coffee. In this case, a finger coffee slice of 1” x 1” x the height of the cake may be the right size for your guests. Of course, you will get more portions from your cake if you choose this size. Be sure to inform the venue or whoever is cutting your cake of the size you have chosen for your guests.
NOTE: All servings are approximate, as your cake may yield fewer or more portions depending on who cuts it and how.
